REDCURRANT
Redcurrants fruit on wood that is one year old
or even off spurs on very old wood. They should not be cut back like
blackcurrants, but rather thinned out. Excellent when trained on walls.

GOOSEBERRIES
Gooseberries will do better on rich soils and
if fed each year. Spray with a fungicide at leaf break and just after the
berries have set, to help to prevent mildew. Picket or similar insecticide if
sprayed in April and May will control caterpillars.

RASPBERRIES
Raspberries like a rich, open soil. Summer
fruiting cultivars should have the old canes cut out as soon as the fruit has
been picked. Autumn fruiting cultivars should be cut down to within a few inches
of the ground in late February.
